
The Community Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for providing professional services to increase the public’s awareness of services offered by Stanly County Partnership for Children (SCPC) through a variety of outreach and relationship building activities. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collaborating with local educational, faith, business, civic, social and health organizations to increase awareness of the needs of children, families and child care providers, to ensure a strong community knowledge of the importance of early childhood development and available resources and through social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram, etc.). Building strong working relationships and awareness within the community in support of early childhood efforts through outreach and networking is key for this position. Additional responsibilities include serving as the primary liaison with medical practices by providing technical assistance, consultation, monitoring and coordination of the Reach Out and Read programs. The Community Outreach Specialist is also primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) and Kaleidoscope Play and Learn activities. The Community Outreach Specialist will work with the NC Pre-K program assisting English and non-English speaking families.
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, child development, community relations or related human services field with early childcare-related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Fluent in Spanish, preferred. Must be a team player, self-motivated, detail orientated, excellent communication, organization, & interpersonal skills. A valid NC driver license and use of your personal vehicle is required.
